Authority, published.
Agent Delegated Authority Protocol (ADAP) is how delegated authority is bounded, checked, and proven between agents. Apache 2.0. Public Draft v0.1. Hardalion created it and maintains a reference implementation. You do not need our product to use the protocol.
What the draft defines
- DelegationA person, or an agent, hands over only the authority the next agent may use.
- IntentThe agent signs what it is about to do, before anything runs.
- PolicyA deterministic check returns allow, require a person, or block.
- ReceiptThe decision is portable. You can show it without calling Hardalion.
What it does not replace
Identity tells you who an agent is. Access tells you what it may reach. ADAP tells you what it was entrusted to do.
- Identity
- Authentication
- OAuth
- An agent framework
- An execution runtime
How this sits with the products
Nexus and Gateway are how an organization runs the check. ADAP is the protocol those semantics can be written in. The draft does not require a Hardalion account, a model, or a particular transport.
